Today 10 Jan 2012 was one of those days.

It was a foggy morning in Bahrain. After a deep meditation and while driving to office, looking at the weather, felt like sharing these thoughts which was running in my mind.

It was foggy but not cold

It was chill but no wind

There was light but no sun

The world was moving, yet the weather was unmoved

If we have to give form to spirit,

often I wondered how it will look like?

Today's weather was like our spirit

It feels the Joy, yet does not jump

There is light in our spirit, yet does not shine

Sorrow or happiness Yet is unmoved

Spirit is only a reflection of self

when the self disappears

Spirit starts showing, yet cannot see.

What is Adi Sakthi?

Thanks to Shri Mataji's 1993 puja video on the occassion of Adi Sakthi Puja at Cabella. During the speech many of the misnomers about the meaning and powers of Adi Sakthi was cleared. I will try to narrate below to the benefit of viewers.

The word Adi is derived from Sanskrit (Deva Lipi), the language of Gods, which means the Primordial, the supreme, which has no beginning, no end, which is omnipresent, which cannot be destroyed or created, which just exist. The word Sakthi means power. Together, we can call it as the primordial power or energy or force.

Everything is created out of this power. It can expand and recede at its will. Adi Sakthi is nothing but the power of pure love and compassion. Adi Sakthi was created out of the pure desire of Lord Shiva. The power of Adi Sakthi is immeasurable and as a reflection it is present in all living beings, but it is at a much developed state in human beings. The reflection of Adi Sakthi in human beings is nothing but Kundalini energy. When this kundalini energy is awakened it enlightens the Spirit (Atma) within us.

When the Spirit gets enlightened, it is expressed as eternal joy, love and compassion.

For analysis sake, let's think it over, If each and every human being is a reflection of Adi Sakthi, then Shri Mataji is Adi Sakthi Herself.

When we say Adi Sakthi, then the typical human mind (the Indians mainly) try to equate this and imagine as a Deity armed with full weapons and sitting on a Tigress or Lion. This is due to the ignorance and past teachings of our Elders. Adi Sakthi can be felt at our finger tips and on all our chakras, whenever we sit in Meditation. In other words, when the Kundalini connects herself to the Primordial force, we can say, we are entering into the world of Adi Sakthi.

Shri Mataji says, when she took birth on this earth in Human form, even she was worried as to how she is going to open the Sahastrar (Bramharandra/fontanel bone area)of humans? since in those days, at least in India people were just worried about their life and worldly affairs. Then she decided that the power of Adi Sakthi is much greater the problems we humans face. However, whenever she tried to explain this to people, they never understood the concept. At a later stage, due to the sheer power of Adi Sakthi, regardless of the problems a person is facing, it started acting when Kundalini pierced the fontanel bone area.

She has mentioned that till now the seekers even from the ancient times in their search of Adi Sakthi had reached only up to the principle of "Bhagavati", means they have understood only about Bhagavathi. So the principle of Adi Sakthi is much greater and still to be understood in proper sense.

No amount of reading or soul searching will reach us to Adi Sakthi. Then how are we going to attain that stage?

Shri Mataji says, it is very simple... Just be in silence and meditate more. You are automatically connected to Adi Sakthi. The manifestation and expression of true love within us is a reflection of Adi Sakthi itself. When the Diety is sitting in front of us, do we need to search outside?

Ask yourself the following as an introspection?

Are we in true love with others or we just do it superficially?
When we speak to someone, do we really mean it or just doing it artificially?
In our compassion, do we really forgive people or we still carry that grudge in our heart and wait for an opportunity to take revenge?

If we are not truthful to our spirit, then whatever we plan and do will be defeated by the power of Adi Sakthi.

This is explained as "Sankalpa Vikalpa Virodhi'. She is against any planning and conditioning as Adi Sakthi is spontaneous. If we attempt to do anything which is against the will of Adi Sakthi, then she defeats such plans.

I recommend each and every Sahaja Yogi, even non Sahaja yogis to watch the DVD mentioned in the start of this blog.

Happy Adi Sakthi Puja 2010.....

Why Mother is so important in our life?

Around the world, the word Mother invokes an instant emotion. Mother is the source of endless joy, love and compassion. In the history, we have heard of bad son, bad husband, wife etc. have we ever heard of bad mother? never we will hear also.

A son can become husband, father in due course of his life, however the relationship between the Mother and her children will never change. A mother remains a mother always to her children. If father is the identity behind every name, Mother is the one who first identify father to her children. The child starts believing from then on.

Let's look at how mother is respected as per Indian culture.

In the order of worship, Mother is placed first in the vedas followed by father, guru and God. In indian language, it is Matha, Pitha, Guru and Deivam.

Even those who have renounced the worldly life and took to saintlyhood, whenever they see their Mother, they can prostate at their Mother's feet, whereas if the saints happen to meet their father, they should not do so on the contrary, the father should prostate before the saint, even if it happnes to be his own son.

The saints cannot perform funeral rites as we normal humans do for our own parents, relatives etc. since they have renounced all bondage, however if the deceased happens to be the saint's mother, they are allowed to perform the funeral rites.

Mother is given the highest respect in any society. If we have to prosper in our life, please try to get your mother's love and grace which will protect us in the long run. No mother will curse her children, however if it happens, then your life is doomed for generations together.

Similarly for our spiritual ascent too, it is very very important that we follow the advises of our Holy Mother Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, who happens to be a compassionate Mother as well as our Guru.

Through her Grace, let's awake the inner mother within us, the mother kundalini and through that light, let us enlighten our spiritual knowledge.

No Pains no gains

I had a thought provoking week, thanks to the fracture on my toe. We had a sahaj program in British School of Bahrain last week. Prior to the start of the program, I had an injury on my toe, however considering the importance of doing Mother's work, I just ignored and attended the program. Even though I had little difficulty in walking, I din't experience any major pain as our attention was more on the new seekers to help them get their self realisation.

The next day when I visited the hospital, the Doctor confirmed fracture on my toe and the following whole week, I was struggling with pain. However, thanks to Shri Mataji's various lectures and video, I could divert my attention at home and forget the pain inflicted by the injury. This was the moment I experienced that our body is different from the Spirit. The spirit does not experience any pain at all, rather it is joyous when you do Mother's work. Prior to this experience, I had read about many saints who could differentiate between their body and spirit and nothing deterred their spirit. For example, Ramana Maharishi underwent surgery without anasthescia. Similary Paramacharya underwent eye surgery without any anasthescia. I was always fascinated how this is possible? It would be a mockery to compare myself with those great saints, however the point I want to stress here is about body and spirit and both has no connection. Regardless of the state of your body, the spirit can be kept joyous provided you take your inner attention to a higher level.

The Next week, on my follow up visit to the Doctor, since he was relaxed a bit, we had little chat about pain in physical as well as in philosophical sense. I repeat the Doctor's golden words here..
"Even though pain is an unpleasant feeling, it is a blessing from God as Pain can be experienced only by Living beings and not by Dead things".

This was the second thought provoking moment. It is true that behind every pain, there is a gain. In my case in the physical sense, the pain I underwent was a proof that my toe was on its way to normalcy, it's part of the repair process. That is a confirmation that my toe would soon be back to normalcy.

Similarly even in our lives, behind every pain, there is a gain. It's the test of endurance. Pain gives you strength to face the challenge and succeed. If you look at the History, after every War there was peace, life bubbled to normalcy and humans in their quest to conquer nature invented so many things which prevented a repeat act.

Face the pain, accept the pain with a smile and work out your way to succeed the pain as you will gain sooner. Even if nothing happens, least we would learn a lesson.

On the videos and speeches I watched, I was amazed by Mother's usage of words which are truly divine and each word is a Mantra by itself. Some of it I re produce below for the benefit of readers:-

"The divine is more interested in a little worm which is alert and lives outside than a dead one at King's palace"

"The little feather weighs much more than the ship" - This is about realization process and benefits of kundalini awakening.

"The powers of Adi Sakthi is much greater than the problems we (humans) face" - Adi sakthi puja 1993, Cabella.

"If you do not meditate with such intensity that I feel you in my Body, then you have no right to question me" - Adi sakthi puja 1993, Cabella.

"If you meditate regularly with intensity, then I'm responsible for your ascent" - Adi sakthi puja 1993, Cabella.

I'll try to describe about adi sakthi and our mis-conception in my next blog.

Your comments and feedback are most welcome and will be a source of encouragement.

THE ESSENCE

Ganesha is the essence of mooladhara
Brahmadev saraswati is the essence of swadistan
Mahalakshmi is the essence of Nabhi
Dattatreya is the essence of Void
Sadashiv is the essence of Anahat
Krishna is the essence of Vishudhi
Lord Jesus is the essence of Agnya
Kalki is the essence of Sahastrar.

Mataji is the essence of Sahaj
She is the essence of Purity
She is the essence of True Love and compassion

Our mother is the ocean of Joy
Let's bask in her glory

Choice after Self Realisation

I was listening to a very old speech CD of Shri Mataji. The title was Sat, Chit, Anand, the speech delivered in India, way back in 1977.

Prior to listening to this CD, I was always wondering, how after realisation, the human qualities does not change and very much linger around the age old habits and thoughts? Why the kundalini awakening does not necessitate change in the human qualities for better? In some cases, after realisation, why certain people were exposed? Does it not bring bad repute to the self realisation process?

Shri Mataji, explains this beautifully in her talk. After self realisation, you have two options, either you become a self realised person, or you become a rakshasa(person with negative thoughts and deeds). So, the choice is ours as to what we want to become.

To become a self realised person, one need not do much than keeping his attention on his spirit and be in thoughtless state, which is without reaction. Also this is called witness state. It's a vicious circle, be in thoughtless state to achieve witness by not reacting. If any one of this cycle is broken, then your mind falls at the hands of your thoughts.

Your thoughts start controlling your mind and action which will lead to do wrong things, wrong advise to others and if person who is listening is not strong enough in his meditation, will automatically listen to this person and as Mother says, it's a fratenity of Bhoots. (negative minds together).

She has quoted Ravana as classic example of a realised person turning into Rakshasa. Despite his realisation, despite his boons from Lord Shiva, still he was conquered by his thoughts. He was unable to control his thoughts through interrospection. He captured Sita, wife of Lord Rama and had to pay a heavy price. Not only he lost his life, kingdom and family but also the hard earned good name as a realised person. In short he lost connection with the divine.

It is upto us as to what we want to become. Interrospection plays a vital role in achieving that. Every night, before going to bed, if we take a stroll mentally as to what we achieved today(sahaj activities) what we spoke? Did we hurt anyone by our talks? Did we listened to the advises of wrong person? Did we react without being in witness?

Spirit does not lie. If you ask your spirit the above questions(being in thoughtless state), you will get a clear answer. The better option would be not to get into those situation again, be in witness state.

As mother kundalini tests us all the time, we need to be careful in our words and deeds.

On this day of Shri Mataji's birthday, let's take a vow to be a better sahaj yogies.

The above statements are purely based on my interrospection. Comments and suggestions are most welcome.

THOUGHTLESS STATE

An enlightened personality, I can tell you, is a person who is beyond his mind. And he is in contact completely with this all-pervading power of divine love. As a result everything in that person is guided, helped by that divine love. That power is so great that it looks after you, it organizes everything, it thinks, it understands, it is wisdom of all the things. You become a person who is so collectively conscious.

Today we need people like that. Otherwise you always think about yourself. About others you can only think when you are collectively conscious. But these days there are so many people marketing their spirituality, you see. That’s also there. And just people jump to it, I don’t know why. Why don’t they find out what is the gain, what did you gain out of it? Nobody wants to know.

H.H.Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Press Conference, London, July 1999

The above golden words of Mother can be understood only if we are in a state of collective conscious and not self centered. Great men do not need words to communicate. Their thoughts are enough. This can be narrated by means of a short story.

Once Swami Vivekananda was travelling by train. His fellow passenger said that those in ochre robes, who never did any work, had no right to eat food and sustain themselves. Why should they eat, when they did nothing productive, but lived off the labour of other people, he asked.

Vivekananda said that the man was not providing him with food, and should not concern himself about what others gave. But the man would not give up criticising Vivekananda. He said that if Vivekananda did not beg, would he get any food? Vivekananda said that he would get food without asking.

At the next station, Vivekananda got off the train, and walked up and down the platform. When the train was about to leave, a man came running, calling out to him. The man had a packet with him, which he gave to Vivekananda. He explained that he had had a dream, in which he had seen Vivekananda, who had asked him for food. He did not know who the person in the dream was. All he knew was that there was someone in the railway station, who was hungry, and that he would have to bring him some food. Thus, Vivekananda was able to communicate merely by thinking. He did not need words to communicate.

Only great men can communicate in this way. But our thoughts can sometimes be discerned even by animals. When we are afraid, a smell emanates from our body, not sensed by human beings, but clearly smelt by animals. They can sense that we are afraid, and that encourages them to attack us. We see paintings of sages, surrounded by wild animals, and wonder how the animals did not harm them. These sages had passed beyond the stage of thoughts of any kind. They had attained the state of nirvana. So, since they did not experience any fear, the animals did not attack them.

But we are victims of our thoughts. Our thoughts wake up even before we do. The moment we awake in the morning, we have different thoughts taking control of our minds. If it is not worry, it is envy. If it is not envy, then it is anger. If it is not anger, it is greed. How can we know peace then?

Shri Mataji's Golden words about Thoughtless Awareness:

Now, to become a Guru, what do we have to do after our realization? Guru word means gravity. Gravity means a person who is grave, who is deep, who is magnetic. Now as you have learnt in Sahaja Yoga that realization takes place in complete effortlessness. So normally a Guru tries to make his disciples effortless, which is called as Prayatna Shaithilya - means "relax your efforts.” Without doing anything you got your Prayatna Shaytilya, otherwise Kundalini would not have risen.

Then the second stage is Vichara Shaithilya - the thoughtless awareness. This also you got it without doing anything. And the third is complete negation of thought - Abhava - and the bliss of peace. So one has to understand that you have to pass them, through three stages. First, when you get your realization all these things come spontaneously, for that moment. When you raise the Kundalini of others, these things happen to them spontaneously. You too have that power now to raise the Kundalini of people and to establish it in them. But we must understand why it has to be done that way, why we have to have Vichara Shaithilya.

H.H.Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Guru Puja 1984.

To attain thoughtless stage we need to meditate regularly.

How do you attain nirvichar (thoughtlessness) in meditation?

In meditation? There is no vichar (thoughts) during meditation. Why should thoughts come in meditation? You are not to seek anything during meditation. It is only to be felt within. It is you who have to discriminate whether you have realised this or not during meditation. In meditation, first you will come to know your own mistakes, where you were wrong, and where you were right. When you start realising your own mistakes, then you are on the right track. When you look at yourself in the mirror, you see yourself. What is the use of seeing others? The trouble with us is, we always like to see others in the mirror. Then how will you identify your own faults if you start to see others in the mirror?

(H.H.Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Shri Krishna Puja 2003, Pratisthan, Pune, India)

To attain this thoughtless stage meditation is the best method. But by mere reading of books will not help us to attain these thoughtless state. We need to meditate regularly to experience this blissful state.

What is the Destination?

The last 2 weeks are filled with Sahaja Events. Upon pondering my limited intelligence about spiritualty I'm yet to get a clear convincing answer for my self.

The question - After getting vibratory awareness, after settling into meditation, what next? The more we spend towards good cause, the more we will receive back.

The following are the golden words of our mother about spending money for good cause.

1984-05-21
"But the people like Indians, who are not calculating, are not so rich, they are very generous, they always have money for Sahaja Yoga. I have never had a problem of money with them. Never. Because they are not so calculating. To them, to do for others, not for yourself, but for others, to spend for others. If they have come to your house, alright, open your heart now; this is the time to spend. Not for drinking and self-indulgence, but for the indulgence of doing for others; that’s their practice and tradition. ‘Oh, they have come! Let’s spend now. What can we do?’ This is the main thing one should understand, those who are mostly indulgent are extremely miserly people. So, the attention which is cunning is the worst attention because, you see, cunningness also cheats yourself, if it is cunning with you and you think, ‘Oh, I’ve been smart enough, you see I’ve saved 2p’. But you have lost your soul. You are no more a Sahaja Yogi."

---------------------------------------------------------------

So when we observe well the words of mother, it is very clear that to be a true sahaj yogi, we need to spend money for good cause and not to worry so much about the future. This is the best sahaj way. I would like to share a short story narrating the importance of spending for good cause and being a good soul.

The following is that short story.

One day a zamindar(richest man of a village) rode his horse, with a servant behind him holding an umbrella to shield his master from the sun. After a while, the zamindar dismounted from the horse and rested in the shade of a tree.

A poor man who was passing by told the zamindar, “You travel on horseback. But I have to walk, and will therefore be exposed to the sun for longer. Don’t you think I should have your umbrella?”

The zamindar saw the logic of his words, and gave the poor man his umbrella. Then the poor man said, “Why do you need slippers?” And the zamindar parted with his footwear. Then the poor man said, “Why do you need this horse? Give that also to me.” But the zamindar now drove the poor man away.

Far from being unhappy, the poor man was happy. The puzzled zamindar asked him why. The poor man said had he gone home without asking for the horse, he would have felt miserable, wondering if he should not have asked for that too. But now that he had asked and was refused, he felt relieved.

He now knew that even his asking wouldn’t get him the horse. When we work hard for something, we are happy with the results. But when something comes easily, we become demanding.

Now both the zamindar and the poor man are happy and their hearts filled with joy that is arised out of the giving and receiving gestures. The giver always is more happeir seeing the happiness on the face of the receiver.

In another instance, a rich man had a big gold bar, which he buried in his garden. Every day he would dig it up and have a look at it. One day his neighbour stole the gold bar. When the rich miser confronted him, the latter replied that since the rich man was only going to look at the gold bar and not use it anyway, what did it matter whether it were brick or gold?

While we must save for a rainy day, it is also important to spend.

While giving to those in need is important, the gesture must not be such as to encourage laziness, and while it is important to save, it is equally important to know how and when to spend. The important thing is to have a balanced outlook towards money and wealth.

Soundarya Lahari

A small description about this powerful verses sung in praise of the Devi.

The story goes like this:

When Adi sankaracharya visited the Kailash (abode of Lord Shiva and Parvathi), Shiva gave it to Sanakaracharya the soundarya lahari, which is nothing but a collection of 100 verses in praise of the Sakthi (Goddess Parvathi).

Sou in sanskrit is 100 and when one sings or reads this with full devotion, one can enjoy the bliss, hence the name soundarya lahari.

The first 49 verses is called Anandha Lahari and the remaining 51 verses is Soundarha Lahari.

On his way back to Earth, Shiva's vehicle (Nandhi) snatched the first 49 verses. When Adi Sankara was praying to Goddess Sakthi to help him get the songs in full, Sakthi asked Sankara to start writing the missing 49 verses by himself.

Hence the first 49 verses describes the beauty of the Devi and the balance songs are used to describe the destroying powers of the Devi. Even today, for certain ailments, these are very powerful and found to have curing powers.

I happen to listen one of Shri Mataji's speech recently in which She explains about Soundarya Lahari in just two words:-

YOUR MOTHER IS ATHI ROUDRA, ATHI SOWMYA...

Means she is all powerful to destroy any negativity at the same time

She is eternally beautiful/kind.

The famous music composer Illayaraja (from Tamil film industry) has composed a beautiful song in tamil which is nothing but one verse of Soundarya Lahari. The song Janani, Janani.. even today this song is played as an opening song by all light music troupe.

This song is full of vibrations..

Happy reading...

GREAT LESSON TO BE ADHERED FROM A CHILD

The desire to seek happiness is predominant in individuals, but many not only lack the ability to understand what makes one happy but are also not aware of the means to attain it. The worldly Maya holds its sway over many, preventing the perception of what is enduring and tempting them to long for temporary fulfilments such as money, fame, and power.

Only when the truth of the ephemeral quality of life begins to sink into one’s consciousness will it be possible to desire to seek the ultimate goal of life, salvation. For this to happen, one has to derive inspiration and lessons from the lives of the devout who exemplify the best of virtues.

When extolling the qualities and attributes of the child devotee Prahlada in the Bhagavata Purana, Sage Narada tells Yudhishtira that there is no end to his qualities, just as one cannot adequately describe the auspicious attributes of the Supreme Being. Prahlada exemplifies the qualities of devotion, discrimination and detachment. This child was blessed to receive the highest teaching from Sage Narada while still in the womb. The mind determines the thought, word and deed of an individual and since Prahlada was by nature a realised soul and a staunch devotee of the Lord, he always contemplated on Him and was not attracted towards worldly objects. He had the senses under control and though an Asura by birth, he remained an embodiment of goodness in conduct.

Prahlada taught the other Asura children the philosophy of life. He warned that Samsara is akin to a dilapidated well and when caught in it none can help us out except God or a True Guru. He entreated them to seek the blessings of Lord Narayana. He refused to accept his father’s command to pay obeisance to him instead. A frustrated Hiranyakashipu tried in vain to make his beloved child toe his line and succumbed to open display of enmity towards the child, an unnatural reaction born from ego and pride.

Humility is a virtue to be cultivated from the example of the devout who are rich in the experience of God and hence are not in the least proud.

So when we closely relate this story of Born Realised Prahlada it reveals the core essence of wonderful Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Just Try to observe the wonderful sahaj Qualities of Prahlada like, 'Devotion, Discrimination, Detachment, Control over Senses, Showing Love and Compassion to the worst enemies, Overcoming the Ego and pride of opposite person through true love and affection.

Every individual will understand and interpret shri. Mataji's words in their own way. It is most important to understand the core essence of Mother's words. It is very very easy to talk about sahaj and the qualities for hours, days, weeks, months and years... But it is next to impossible when it comes to practical application. It can be achieved only by means of TRUE SELF INTROSPECTION. May be some people would have acquired very very few qualities of sahaj, but to live in sahaj we need sincerity, dedication, fullest devotion, surrender to our mother and above all our divine mother's utmost grace and blessings. So the prime focus is to be on SELF INTROSPECTION and to grow deeper in sahaj. These are purely personal views.

JAI SHRI MATAJI.

God and Kaliyuga

How to reach God in Kaliyuga? (Where is the Brahmin?).

Going by the title, if you get it wrong that it's about a religion, then you are sadly mistaken.

Again, if you assume that this is yet another Indian serial which talks about the usual hatred, revenge and frivolous material things, again you are mistaken.

This is purely about higher things in life which we normally do not seek. The topics covered in the serial are very much Sahaj. The highlight or specialty of the serial is between the soap, the writer gives certain explanation by quoting various puranas, upanishads and vedas, which is very interesting to watch and clarifies our doubts.

The writer is none other than Cho Ramasamy who is the editor of the famous magazine Tuklaq, published from Chennai.

Whatever I could remember from the past episodes, I blog in this column so that the reader can correlate the same with Sahaj matters.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sahajbahrain.blogspot.com/2009/04/engey-brahmanan-where-is-brahmin.html' title='Engey Brahmanan? My senses are like the windows of this vehicle and my mind is the engine that I use to run my worldly affairs. I use the “I” thought to play a role in this world. I am not to confuse myself to be the vehicle. There is a whole lot of difference between the vehicle and the owner who runs it. The sorrow of the vehicle is not the sorrow of the owner. When there is wear and tear in the vehicle, the owner does not suffer wear and tear. All sorrow is created due to our wrong identification with the instruments which we use to work in this world. A thought “I” am sad arises in our mind. Who is this “I”? This “I” is merely a thought in the mind. If we get driven by the thought unconsciously giving it our assent, we start feeling sad. We need not feel sad when the “I am sad” thought arises. We may even just observe its occurrence and watch its death. It’s just that we are all playing our respective roles in this drama of life. The masks we use to operate in our roles are our body and the mind. The “I” thought is the “I” of the role. We are the one’s playing the role. To whom is the sorrow? Sorrow is simply a misperception.

In these 6 verses Sri Adi Shankaracharya explains to us how we are different from the masks we wear. We can use these as aids to meditation. We simply sit down and recognize the truth in these verses clearly and be with it. By thus being a witness we observe that sorrow cannot cling to it and the sorrow of the “I” thought is not our sorrow. This practice of detachment is what is suggested in bhagavad gita as “abhyasa vairagya”. In fact, to detach we need to be attached in the first place. Can something cling to us in the first place? Let’s look at this. Whatever clings, clings to the role and not to the one who plays the role.

“Chit ananda rupam Shivoham Shivoham”, “Aham Shiva:” I am shiva. Shiva is a word, so what does that mean? It is “Anada Rupa:” it’s of the form of Bliss. I am that embodied Bliss. If we are embodied bliss, why do we suffer? It’s strange, coz, just as fire cannot feel cold, coz fires very being is heat. It’s not fire’s property, but it’s being itself. Same way, Shiva is Bliss, they are not two things and Sankaracharya says in his Nirvana Shatakam, that he is that Bliss. There is therefore no question of suffering. Suffering is an error in perception. If we can simply abide within in ourselves, we discover this fact that all our sense of incompleteness is a misperception.

Satanic forces

History repeats itself… as you know very well, all the satanic forces which one had to face, one at a time… are all back on the stage… and they are to be defeated. The greatest problem of modern times is that these satanic forces have taken a very subtle form… and they enter into your psyche, and into your egos. And you are the Saints… you are the bhaktas… you are the devotees of the Goddess - so it's a very delicate situation. When the confusion is there… when the Saints are attacked, the aggressor can be removed… but, the Saints become mixed up, or confused with those negative forces… in which it is very difficult to make him see the light. But you have seen the situation very well… and the subtler you grow, the subtler they become… and they start giving you ideas which are so negative. But you cannot see them. So the problem today is very delicate - there are no absolute Saints… there are no absolute bad people… such a mixture… a confusion - that is what this Kali yuga is… these modern times are. The only way to get rid of them is to surrender… that's the only way… there is no other way out… because when you surrender… the spirits, the negativity, the satanic forces just disappear. They have no interest in a person who is surrendered to God. They cannot surrender. If they surrender… they'll also become Saints. All the time to think… 'what are my catches… what are my negativities' is not going to help you… just surrender all these ideas that are coming to you… and you will find that all absurd ideas will run away. This is the easiest way to get rid of your problems… is just to surrender

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
January 1980

The Story of Saint Udhanga (Rishi)

This is a story during Mahabharat period. After the war was over and Pandavas emerged victorious, the saint udhanga met Lord Krishna. During that time, big saints and rishis had the authority to question the Lord by virtue of their penance powers.

The saint asked, Krishna why did you took the fight in the first instance, see now beacuse of that so many good people also had to suffer, so many innocent people lost their life and he went on narrating...

Lord Krishna just smiled and asked the Saint, I'm pleased with your question, but I cannot answer you immediately, however in appreciation of your question I wanted to give you a boon. You ask whatever boon you want to said the Lord.

The saint replied, Hey Krishna, I'm a saint, I've no family nor any possession; what material things I can ask you? However, I travel a lot, cover miles together and at times may have to cross the hot and humid conditions of desert. So you please give me a boon that whenever I get thirst, I should get water immediately.

Lord Krishna bestowed him the boon...

After some time, when the saint was crossing through the desert, he felt so thirsty and remembered immediately the boon given by Shri Krishna.

To his surpise a man appears to be like a hunter came in front of him. The looks of the hunter made the saint wonder what a boon Krishna has given him, becasue he was holding all the hunting equipments soaked in blood, the dress he wore was made of animal skin with blood stains and huge pieces of meat was hanging in his shoulders. Yet the hunter asked the saint, do you need something to drink.

Thinking at the external appearance of the person, the saint refused to take anything from him. The saint thought why Shri Krishna is playing with him by assuring something which eventually does not happen. He said, hey krishna did not get anyone else to play your leelas?

Then appeared Shri Krishna in front of him and said, saint, why you did not take the water from the hunter?

Actually he was not a hunter but Lord Indra himself has come to offer you. He was not offering water rather the nectar itself (Amrut). Had you taken that never in your life you will be in want of water. Krishna continued... the moment I gave you the boon, I met Indra and told him to provide you water whenever you feel thirsty.

As you know Lord Indra is incharge of all the other devas and thus the job of Varuna (the rain god) has to be approved by Indra. Instead Indra said, I will give him amrut instead of water. Krishna said it's upto you.

The fate was that the Saint could not recognise the play and he could not drink the nectar.

Realising his mistake and ignorance the saint said, Krishna now I understood where I stand in my ascent.

I'm still at the first step and has a long way to reach the top. Without realizing this, I tried to question you. Please forgive me. He also realized that the question he asked Shri Krishna about the Mahabharath battle was totally out of his ignorance.

Similar to the story, Shri Mataji is ready to give us the nectar by way of spiritual enlightenment but we as normal human beings fail to recognize that and instead all the time we keep fighting with ourselves (SIX ENEMIES WITHIN), the lust, greed, anger etc....

Conquer your emotions and feelings, let's prepare ourselves for the nectar.

Thiruvannamalai

When i wrote about moksha in the previous blog, it prompted me to write about this place.

I have not originated from this place thiruvannamalai, however knew very little about this place, thanks to my friends from this region.

It's is in the southern region of India in state Tamilnadu perhaps 100-160KMS. from chennai.

It is said in the ancient scriptures that
You get moksha when you perform your rites in varanasi(Ganges)
You get moksha when you be in the place kancheepuram(famous for temples, again in Tamilnadu)
But you get moksha, the moment you think about the place Thiruvannamalai.

Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of mountain. When you perform a girivalam(come in circle around the mountain footsteps) one could see the mountain in full form and it's a resemblence of Lord Shiva in sayanam pose(sleeping posture).

After reading through various websites and some site photographs, during my regular meditation, the moment I take my attention to this sacred place, mother kundalini shoots up like anything and often felt that I'm connected to some nuclear reactor or what?

Such a force the flow is... It's divine, It's absolute bliss!!!

How it will be if we could stay there?
In the past some of the saints, rishis were longing to visit this place without even seeing it. They just heard about this place.

Some famous saints/rishis who fell in love with this place, or in other words 'love at first sight'
Ramana Maharishi
Yogi Ram surath kumar
Shesadri Swamigal....the list is endless

It is believed that still many more yogies are in deep meditation in remote places on the mountains.

Ramana maharishi was in penance for years together inside the temple. When people found his body, it was covered all over by shrubs, snakes etc. Even animals understand divine....none harmed him.

Will I be ever lucky to be in this place at some stage of my life?

I would like to share a recent incident about this place...

One of my friend whose mother is from this place and he wanted to buy some plot with an idea to settle down.

Being my well wisher he offered me to go for the plot saying we could retire there after completing our duties.

Initially I was tempted, then as an afterthought I di'nt go for that ... the reason

When you become a real yogi you should get rid of your possessions, If I ever be lucky to settle down in Thiruvannamalai then Lord Shiva should bless me to be there without any possessions, then why to buy a plot and again get into the maya of possession?

Except the clothes to protect my modesty, I want to stay in T.Malai like a real yogi.

This is my pure desire MAA.

Kundalini and Desires

Jai Shri Mataji,

Kundalini is nothing but desire. Upon discussion with various sahaja yogies, I submit below the points as an answer to the questions:

As far as kundalini is concerned, the moment she is awakened she starts fulfilling all the desires of a human be it simple desire or pure desire.

Those who seek higher things in life, especially concerned only about spiritual and individual ascent, will raise high and they are able to overcome all the simple desires like money, power, fame, ego, lust, greed, jealous etc.

In this case, all other desires are considered as impure and the desire to raise high in spirituality alone reamins as his sole aim and thus it becomes pure desire.

Like our Mataji, kundalini is so compassionate and fulfills whatever desires that may arise within.

The second level of desires mainly remain centred around nabhi and swadisthana and at times reaches upto agnya.

At the Nabhi & Swadisthana Level: Job, Money, More money, sucked into the ocean of illusion, false prestige, popularity ... the list is endless.

At the agyna level : Fully bloated ego, will not listen to anyone, by this the yogi would have lost all his/her discretionary powers and asserts themselves that they are correct all the time.

When anyone caught up at this vicious circle, they will never try to come above this. It will result in that yogi satisfied with his material level or a very low level of desire fulfilled. We still cannot blame that person, as this what they have desired.

You may very often see such people are actively involved in every sahaj activites, likes to discreetly publicise their name in the slightest possibility, very sly in nature, will do anything to please others in order to get themselves pleased (Their ego and superego). They may take extra efforts to read each and everything about sahaj not for self knowledge but to display their knowledge to others at every given opportunity.

Think about it... you may surely have someone very next you in your own collective. Still we cannot blame them or criticise them as this is want they desired and the mother kundalini granted their wish.

So Kundalini is nothing put a power of desire is 100% true.

But the sad part about the people with second level of desire that they have to again take birth go through the hassles of life and death to ultimately reach the human level, get their kundalini awakened and aim for MOKSHA. Is it not very lengthy process?

Mataji is ready to give moksha in this life itself, why to wait for the next cycle of life? Do we as mortal human beings has the guts to face this cycle of human life again?

My dear brothers and sisters, awake, arise your pure desire...before it is too late.

SURRENDER

Surrendering

Surrendering is a process which is ultimately attained only after crossing initial two main Stages such as ‘Belief ‘ & ‘Acceptance’. It is not an easy task to attain the stage of surrendering. Neither Surrendering can be attained or achieved by force or materialistic mechanism of life. It requires an immense practice. The very first Phase/stage of Surrendering is BELIEF. One has to first have a firm belief on particular thing. Since the Core focus of this views are purely related to Spirituality, in particular Sahaj, better to have precise specific definitions to state about Surrendering than with Generic words.

Initial Belief is a very important stage. Of course it is common for any human beings to have so many queries, doubts in mind while starting this first stage of believing. Give enough time for this and to practice sahaj immensely. Coming out of all such doubts at the earliest is the best thing to initiate for a firm BELIEF. This can be achieved by continuous enquiries, clarifications by means of getting depth knowledge. The very best way to obtain a firm BELIEF is to speak more about sahaj topics, gain more knowledge from others who can share more valuable sahaj things, attend workshops/seminars when ever there is a chance, initiate for discussion/forums on sahaj topics, be interactive in collective. It is good to be a listener in collective, but similarly should be active and should participate(Speak) in all the discussions in sahaj. So once the doubts, queries are vanished from the mind, the stage ‘BELIEF’ is ultimately achieved.

The second stage/phase is ‘Acceptance’. Once a firm belief is established it naturally should lead to whole hearted ‘Acceptance’. If viewed in broader sense there is only a thin line of separation between the two words ‘Acceptance’ and ‘Surrendering’. As per my view it is like this, All ‘Surrendering’ must have 100% of ‘Acceptance’, whereas all ‘Acceptances’ need not necessarily have ‘Surrendering’. So it is pretty clear that ‘Acceptance’ is a precedent act well before the final Stage of ‘Surrendering’. Fortunate are the one who gets into sahaj and blessed are the one who Shri. Mataji chooses to be in Sahaj forever. It not only raises the eyebrows but also dilutes the mind to some extent on hearing the statements like ‘ Accept Shri.Mataji as Guru’. It is the other way, it is the Adi Shakti Shri. Mataji who chooses the people to be in Sahaj and to do the sahaj work. So precisely the emphasis should be like this ‘Accept Sahaja Yoga and its values’.

Once a firm belief is obtained in Sahaj it should ultimately lead to acceptance of all sahaj values and protocols. Ultimately if all the sahaj values and protocols are accepted whole heartedly, moreover adhered with sincere and dedicated manner then it is implied that The ‘Acceptance’ of Shri. Mataji as Guru happened. So one has to accept all the protocols and values taught in sahaj by Shri. Mataji and to follow those strictly. In any topic it is the easiest part to Talk or give lectures or explanations for hours, but to practice in daily life is the Himalayan task, which can be obtained by sheer practice. So once this Stage ‘Acceptance’ is crossed then there is no delay or hindrance in the final ultimate stage of ‘Surrendering’.

The direct meaning of the word ‘Surrender’ is ‘GIVE UP’, ‘SUBMIT’. So to surrender one has to give up all his Ego, Super Ego, Anger, Enmity, Jealous, and to submit all words, deeds at Shri. Mataji’s golden feet. By giving up all the above said things, it will naturally bring Clarity in words, Purity in Thoughts and Actions of the individual. Once the mind is clear, Heart is pure, there starts surrendering. Once surrendered whole heartedly to Shri. Mataji, then what ever happens is as per Shri. Mataji’s divine blessings. Let that may be good or bad to us, Mataji knows what is good and bad for us. Once Surrendered at golden feet of Shri. Mataji all the mental analysis should (will) stop and to accept/face the life as it comes.

To say precisely, all the time to be in a balanced state. Face the Joy and sorrow in the same manner, React less or no reaction at all for other’s action, Develop unbound Love and compassion with each and every one around, treat everyone in the same manner. These all the by-products after whole heartedly surrendering to Shri.Mataji apart from the core product of Spiritual Ascent and having in depth Self Introspection.

The final Stage of ‘Surrendering’ does not happen in a day or month. It involves immense practice and dedication. Moreover it purely depends on the invidiual’s effort and sincerity. There is no metric measurement to find out individual’s surrender process. Also the duration taken for surrendering will for sure vary from person to person. So it is the divine blessings of Shri. Mataji alone will enable a person to attain this stage of surrendering. Of course for this individual’s focused effort and dedication is immensely required.

All the above said views/concepts are purely personal. Please ignore, if any part of the above views gives a deliberate wrong meaning or message.

Jai Shree Mataji.

Why Shri Mataji Respected Gandhiji a Lot

Albert Einstein About Gandhiji
"Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth"...

Gandhiji is not a normal human being.
